I thought I would pass along this juicy morsel for my readers, Browne Molyneux and BusTard of the hard hitting transit blog The Bus Bench, are about to destroy a car in collaboration with The Loft Studios for the art show Post-Post-Apocalypse. The Murder Your Car! project goes down at 7:30 pm this Saturday January 10th in San Pedro.Have you been buzzed by, yelled at, grabbed, or hit by someone driving a car? Want some cathartic release and vengeance by beating a car with a baseball bat? Then go forth this Saturday and help murder a car!

this photo rocks, although i take personal offense to the idea of killing your car on a theoretical level. it would be like having a "murder your cat" day. not cool. smashing glass and metal boxes with bats on the other hand, that i can get into, i've already packed the louisville...
The murder your car concept I think is about killing the idea of car dependency, and what that stands for, like oil dependency and environmental destruction. The larger show this a part of is also about post post apocalypse, which I imagine would be a post oil abundant time, a time when cars would be essentially useless anyways.
Of course a car is a machine, not alive. People may sometimes assign a name or persona upon their car, but it is still just an inanimate object without the driver. So I don't see it being anything like murdering cats.
Interesting concept haha. Nice meeting ya last week during the snowboarding excursion.
